INFORMATION AND PROTOCOLS - 3 JULY 2021

Our priority is to follow all protocols required by the Government for a safe school environment.

Inspections

The school has been inspected by the relevant authorities and appreciated for its rigorous adherence to all the Covid 19 protocols, as stipulated by the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

SHE committee

The SHE committee continues to ensure that all Covid 19 protocols are followed. 

Kindly note in a situation where a child has tested positive, the school will inform parents of children sitting at a radius of 1 metre of the Covid 19 positive child, to be taken for a Covid 19 test immediately as per the advice from DHMT.   

Hand and shoe hygiene, social distancing, temperature monitoring and wearing of masks is complusory. 

Please note, no parents/guardians will be allowed beyond the red tapes.

All classrooms, corridors and pavements around the school have been marked to maintain social distancing.

Term calendar Detailed term dates will be given out in the first Newsletter of each term.

LATEST PROCEDURES

Arrival and Collection of children

We request parents to drop-off and to collect children from their designated drop off points. 

Only children and staff will be allowed beyond the red tapes and through the small gates.   The under mentioned arrival and collection times need to be strictly adhered to in order to avoid congestion and to maintain social distancing.

Kindly note children will NOT BE allowed entry through the main gates before 6.50am.  Main gates will ONLY open at 6.50am.

Arrival times - Standards 1 to 7 will arrive between 6.50am to 7.20am.

All Lessons will start at 7.30am.

Collection times - will be staggered as follows;

Standard 1              12.45pm to 1.00pm.

Standard 2              1.00pm to 1.15pm. 

Standards 3& 4      1.15pm to 1.30pm. 

Standards 5 to 7     Mondays to Wednesdays              2.15pm to 2.30pm.

                                 Thursdays and Fridays                  1.30pm to 1.45pm.

Kindly note parents having more than one child in the school may collect all children at the same time. Please kindly inform the class teacher accordingly. 

Isolation room – in an event where the temperature of a child is 37.4oC or above, they will be taken to the isolation room and you will be contacted to come and collect your child.

Children will remain in their classrooms most of the day except for when they have to visit the toilet and for P.E.

 P.E.

Children will have outdoor PE lessons which will comprise of light exercises.  They will not be allowed to use any sports equipment until further notice.  The PE teacher and class teacher will both ensure social distancing is maintained at all times.

Break time

Children will eat in class during break time. 

Afternoon activities

There will be no afternoon activities until further notice.

Toilet break

Entry into toilets will be supervised to ensure social distancing is maintained at all times.  Toilets are well-ventilated and equipped with hand soap dispensers, hand soap and hand driers.

Classroom setup

Children’s sitting arrangement has been setup to ensure a 1m distance is maintained at all times.  Classrooms will be well ventilated throughout the day.  Children will not be allowed to work in groups. Sinks are available around the campus and in most classes.

Covid 19 information and support

Teaching staff will continue to provide children with information on best practices and will support children who are not coping well with the changes that we are currently facing.

Cleanliness and hygiene

Although cleaning schedules were in place, toilets will be cleaned and sanitized more frequently. Cleaning of classrooms has been intensified. Children’s desks and chairs and any other surfaces used will be disinfected as often as required during the day.

ADMINISTRATION BUILDING

Admission restrictions to the school campus

Movement beyond the Red tapes is Strictly Prohibited. Only children and staff will be allowed beyond the red tapes and through the small gates.  Parents are encouraged to make school fee payments online.  If you wish to pay at the Bursar’s office or are in urgent need of school uniform, entry will only be allowed through the front door of the Administration Office.

Prior to entry into the Administration building, parents and visitors will have to undergo a mandatory temperature check and hand sanitisation as per the required health protocol.  Kindly note access to the administration building may be controlled in order to maintain social distancing in the building.

Bursar and Uniform Shop

They will be open at the normal opening hours.

Bursar’s office will be open from 7.30am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday and 8.00am to 11.30am on Saturdays.

Uniform shop will be open from 8.00am to 2.30pm Monday to Friday and 8.00am to 11.30am on Saturdays.

If you would like to speak to the Principal, you may call on 3190728 or send an email to letlhabileprimary@yahoo.com.  If there is a requirement to meet the Principal in person, please call to book an appointment.

Tuckshop will be closed until further notice

The tuck shop will remain closed until further notice so kindly pack enough food for your child.

Up-to-date Contact Information

Please ensure that the School Office is kept informed of any changes in personal details, such as e-mail, postal address and telephone/cell numbers so that we are able to contact you when required.

Communication between teachers and parents

We request parents to communicate with teachers via phone calls, emails and WhatsApp messages as much as possible so as to limit the number of meetings in person, unless otherwise required.

Parents/guardians, please also ensure the following.

  1.  Children displaying the following symptoms should stay at home.
  • Coughing
  • Sneezing
  • Having a sore throat
  • Having a high temperature (37.4’C and above)
  • Having diarrhoea or a tummy pain
  • Are vomiting or feel like vomiting
  • Headaches and body aches

2. Please remind children the importance of not sharing their stationery, eating utensils and water bottles.

3. We request parents to assist us in maintaining social distancing when dropping off and picking up children.
